GALERIE FARAH FAKHRI is delighted to announce Chada Gnangoran's residency in Morocco as part of the gallery's partnership with the Montresso Foundation in Marrakech.
Although Gnangoran is a multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics, tapestry and installation, he devoted his residency in Marrakech to painting. Through movement, he develops lines of inquiry that explore questions of identity. By stepping beyond the confines of his studio in Abidjan, travel itself becomes a working method. Immersing himself in the local landscape and artisanal traditions, he has developed a distinctive palette shaped by the ochre tones and luminous quality of the Moroccan landscape, opening a new dialogue between his visual vocabulary and its surrounding environment.
Founded in 2009, the Montresso Foundation is a hybrid space dedicated to supporting artistic creation and fostering the diversity of contemporary artistic research.
