Ousseynou Wade
Ousseynou Wade currently serves as Advisor to the Director General of the Museum of Black Civilisations and brings extensive experience in cultural policy and arts management. After several years in the Ministry of Culture as a Technical Advisor, he went on to serve as Secretary-General of the Biennale of Contemporary African Art. Over six editions, he led the organisation of the Dakar Biennale, supporting and accompanying numerous artists from the continent and the African diaspora.
During his tenure, he oversaw major international initiatives, including design residencies and symposia on art criticism in Africa. With the aim of fostering critical reflection on contemporary art on the continent, he also initiated the publication of AFRIK’ARTS, an art magazine that, across six issues, stimulated critical discourse and regularly reported on artistic developments throughout Africa and its diaspora.
