BECHIR BOUSSANDEL Tunisian and French, b. 1984

A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in DunkerqueBoussandel began his artistic journey through installation before turning to painting.

His work explores the multiple layers of a constantly shifting pictorial language, where the notion of perspective becomes a central inquiry. By disrupting the conventional relationship to the horizon, Boussandel offers a bird’s-eye view of surfaces that evoke both earthly and astral dimensions.

From these magmatic depths emerge isolated elements which, without ever meeting, engage in a direct and silent dialogue across the canvas. Untethered from spatial or temporal anchors, these singular miniatures provoke curiosity and suggest both personal memories and symbolic transpositions.

In a continuous tension between figuration and abstraction, Béchir Boussandel’s work engages in an ongoing reflection on the movement of beings across unstable and shifting territories.
